How EcomWatchdog works
You add a competitor's website. Every night, EcomWatchdog reads their homepage, sale, new-arrivals and shipping pages and the products you follow, and compares them with the night before. Each meaningful change becomes a short update, checked against the page before it is saved, and you get one email on days something changed.
Step 1
Add a competitor's website
EcomWatchdog finds the pages where stores put their offers: the homepage, the sale page, new arrivals, and the shipping and returns page. You check them, and can choose a different page for any of them.
You can also add the competitor products you care about (up to 3 per competitor on the free trial). Choose the size or colour on their page first and copy that link, so the price followed is for that option.
Step 2
Every night, the pages are read again
Around midnight US Central, each page is read and compared with the night before. Pages that only show their prices once they've fully loaded are read in a browser.
If a store blocks automated visits, the page says it couldn't be read and why. It is never reported as "no change".
Step 3
Only the changes that matter
What's reported: sales, discounts and coupon codes; new products, collections and bundles; free gifts, free-shipping thresholds and guarantees; price changes on the products you follow, and offers that stop being advertised.
What's left out: products changing position, review counts, stock levels, menus and small wording changes.
Step 4
Every update is checked against the page
An AI writes each update: a short headline, what it was before, what it is now, and the exact wording from the competitor's page. Before it is saved, every price, percentage, code and date in it is checked against the page, along with the conditions attached to it ("select styles", a minimum order, an end date).
If something can't be confirmed, nothing is recorded that night. The page shows "Not recorded" and is compared again the next night.
Step 5
One short email, and a searchable history
On days something changed, you get one email at the time you choose, listing each competitor's changes with price changes and sales first. You can choose what you're emailed about.
Every update stays in your dashboard, where you can look back by competitor, date or type.

What it can't see
It reads public pages, as a visitor in the US sees them, once a day. It can't see prices behind a login or in a cart, offers sent only by email, stores that block automated visits, or a change made and undone between two checks, and history starts when you add a store. The full list is in what EcomWatchdog can and can't see.
